Cougars Reading Club
Cougars Reading Club is an eight week incentive program with schools being able to select their own timeframe for reading between the months of January and March. Students from Pre-K through 8th grade are eligible to participate; however, to participate, a student's school must be a member of the reading club program.
Cougars Reading Club tracks the progress of a student's reading around the bases of a baseball diamond with the three bases and home plate each representing two weeks of reading. Each teacher may determine his her own reading requirements for the students.
The readers from your school who "hit home runs" earn a free ticket to an April or May Cougars game designated by your school. You may select a game during the school day to attend on a fieldtrip or an evening or weekend game for students to attend with their families.
Other rewards students receive include:
A Golden Ticket entitling them to complimentary admission to all June-September gamesA hot dog and soft drink
An official Cougars Reading Club souvenir and a bookmark
Participation in a pregame parade on the field lead by mascots Ozzie and Annie
